Is there a certain zombie book or short story that blew you away? I have read some cool stories on this site so what are you guys reading to inspire you? I love most all zombie novels. Even the crappy heavily flawed self published stuff. Tell me!

I have I Am Legend but haven't read it yet. I don't care what anybody says but I thought the Will Smith movie kicked serious ass. Mike Patton as a fuck load of monsters is always station! I will read it soon. It looks short from where I am sitting.

I love Maberry. I have read ALL of his books. He was a member here a while back. Not sure if he still is. He is also in the Martial Arts Hall of Fame. That to me is beyond cool since that is one of my other obsessions.

Hey Malice I am up to book 10 of the Walking Dead and I love it.

David Moody is the man. We have been friends for a while now. He has been super generous to me over the years. I first read Autumn a long ass time ago when was just a free online book. Geeze that was even before kindles and other ebook readers. I can't fucking wait for the final book to come out.

I am reading a couple of different books by my buddy Eric Brown. After that I need to finish the lasdt book in the Strain trilogy(can't remember name). BUT ultimatly I am waiting for the big finale to the Repairman Jack series by F Paul Wilson. Hands down the best series of anything ever made.

If you have never read this book I recommend "I Am Legend" not at all like the move I Am Legend or even the old movie The Omega Man with Charlton Heston. The book is a quick read and was for me just fun.

I've been burning through the zombie fiction a lot recently.

Recently read:

Day by Day Armageddon (Books #1 and #2) - J.L. Bourne
Written in a diary format, so everything is written after the fact. Book 1 was great, and although the writing was improved in book 2 I wasn't keen on the heavily millitary slant and really wasn't in love with the end so I'm not sure I'll read book 3 anytime soon!

Married With Zombies (Book #1 of the Living With The Dead series) - Jesse Peterson
Really a comedy romance that happens to be set in a zombie outbreak, I really liked this one because I found myself really connecting with the characters. Its pitched like a marriage self help book, with cute quotes at the start of each chapter along the lines of "Share your problems with your partner and let them help you. Because shifting a 90 pound corpse on your own is hard work"

The Zombie Survival Guide: Recorded Attacks - Max Brooks
Was expecting and hoping for something that equalled World War Z, however was very let down by this graphic novel. The art was great, but the stories were a little flat and were repeats of material from his other books.

Zombies for Zombies - David P. Murphy
Very tongue in cheek, but quite amusing. The idea behind this is that pharmaceutical companies have produced drugs that slow down the transition process and private firms have set up secure locations where those in transition can live out the last of their human days. The book is a self-help guide for those thus afflicted and gives them an idea of what to expect and how to adapt to their new "life"

Zombie Movies: The Ultimate Guide - Glenn Kay
Excellent and thorough chronological collection of descriptions of zombie movies, plus some interesting interviews. Unfortunately in need of an update now as it is missing anything from just before the release of Zombie Strippers.

Currently reading:
Feed - Mira Grant
Zombie Science 1Z - Doctor Austin

I just finished the first book of the Autumn series by David Moody and just bought the second. Very happy so far!

As for Zombies, I've read a bunch of Jonathon Maberry's stuff. His YA series Rot and Ruin is interesting. I'll highly recommend (available on Kindle) Phil Nutman's Wetworks, one of the BEST zombie novels ever. There's also The Book of the Dead, edited by Skipp and Spector. If you can find it - it's a fortune on Amazon. It's sequel Book of the Dead 2 was ok. I have also read a bunch of crap zombie stuff, and I would never reccomend some but I don't want to blast other authors!

Well, other than doing a reedit on Enclave: A Novel of the Zombie Apocalypse (watch the FB page for news on this!) I'm preparing to Edit the second book in the series, as well as an Anthology of Zombie short stories to Novellas, that will likely see publication on the Kindle in the summer. I am reading an original Spartacus novel.
