What are you reading? What have you read?

Is there a certain zombie book or short story that blew you away? I have read some cool stories on this site so what are you guys reading to inspire you? I love most all zombie novels. Even the crappy heavily flawed self published stuff. Tell me!

um..I've read the Survival Guide and listened to WWZ, I also just finished reading Day by Day Armageddon by J.L.Bourne(I liked it) and whatever's I can find on the net. I joined a site too called...I think it's called "homepage of the Dead" I only joined cause they have a huge fiction section that you have to be a member to access. I found out that you only get seven stories a week or something like that unless you pay. Which is fair I guess. I read a few really cool stories there. I've got a real hunger for Zombie Apocalypse literature. Oh yea I'm also reading "Every sigh,The End(a novel about zombies)..nothings happened yet though. I'm reading other things too but they're not relevant.

Not a zombie story, but I finished Tim Lebbon's new horror novel Bar None. It was about this group of survivors trying to make it across landscape of mutations and weird shit to get to the last pub on earth to spend eternity drinking and remembering the old world. It was weird like all of his shit and I loved it. Made me wanna get really drunk.

Some of my favorite zombie novels started as online blogs. Permuted Press rules! I dig all the stories on this site.

Damn Thanx for responding guys. I will try to address all of these. I am a Scott Sigler Junkie for sure. If you enjoyed Infected then you gotta get Contagious. I have been lucky enough to meet Pope Sigler and he rules. Everybody on here should check him out.

I also LOVED all 3 books of the Monster...trilogy by David Wellington. You are right- Great!!!
Can you tell me some more about Zombie Jailbait? I have seen it on amazon.

I have the hardback the Walking Dead compilation but I haven't read it yet , but hell I will start it tomorrow.

I read Pickles books with 20 month old, Boxcar Children with my 10 year old, and Twilight & Harry Potter with my 13 year old.

Walking Dead comic series, I am on book 8 of the compilations. I only have the softbacks though.

Anne Rice is a great writer. I don't read vampire stuff much, but I really enjoyed Vampire Lestat and the Mummy. I have read a few of her other books those are the 2 that I really remember.

I had no idea there was a novelization of Return of the Living Dead. I have gotta have it. I also do not have Reign of the Dead but I have always wanted it. I know it has pretty scary looking cover and I think it has sequel. I am embarrassed to say I am not very familiar with much of Lovecraft. I need to fix this. I have seen Re-Animator movie a million times. I have this silly highlighter that looks like the glowing syringe in the movie. It came with dvd at Best Buy maybe.

The rising was great, I loved it. also there's a book called the Walking Dead. It's full of all kind of shorts about zombies. Some of them are realy good others.. well all of them can't be great now can they. Still the best zombie book I've read is WWZ.That one blew me away.

I read a novel called Reign of the Dead by Len Barnhart, that was very good. There is a second book out already. I just recently finished the novelization of Return of the Living Dead by John Russo which I loved. Its just such a fun story. I'd also like to mention H.P. Lovecraft's Re-Animator. The original story is unbelievable. I have it in an anthology called the Mammoth Book of Zombie Stories. It was originally a multi-part serial printed in pulp magazines of the 30's. Being a fan of the movie, when I read it I was like, Wow. And keep in mind, it was written fifty years before the movie was made. HP Lovecraft is so amazing and timeless. These days I mostly read reference books.

I started out with WWZ and Dead City but once I read The Rising I was hooked. Now it is so many I confuse them until I look at them again. I would love to see pics of some book collections. Preferably from the horror section since that is 90% what I read. The rest is fantasy and bios. I have spent some serious cash on this stuff and I bet some of you have also.

Stopping IN

It's been awhile since I have been home here on Wicked Zombies...I've been doing so much searching within this outer world of life...

I've since gotten re-married and have been working back in security for the last couple of years. Have started back writing again and have purchased an actual house. It's hard being away from my family even though I need to work and support them, but it's a shame a person has to work so much that they miss their kids growing up...

   Well…
