YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE...MAYBE TWICE!
When it comes to anything regarding the next Evil Dead flick, there's been so much said that we never know just what is or is not concrete anymore. However, an interesting and solid little tidbit has fallen right into our laps.
Dread Central has it on good authority from a very reliable source that long-time Sam Raimi editor Bob Murawski (Army of Darkness; Spider-man, Drag me to Hell) has packed up and headed out to Detroit to begin work on the long talked about fourth entry into the Evil Dead franchise, which will be "a small indie thing like the first two."
We'll get you more details as they come, but it looks like this IS happening. Will it be the fourth in the series? Will it be a remake? Stay tuned. News is coming.
Update
According to Bruce Campbell's official website, BruceCampbell.com, Bruce officially joined Twitter over the weekend (follow @GroovyBruce). On his Twitter site Bruce was questioned by a fan who stated, "I won't believe in a new Evil Dead film until I see it. Or at least not until @GroovyBruce tells me to believe in it," to which Campbell responded, "Believe in the remake, dawg! The project is real. In the works. Cool as hell. Scary as hell." More as it comes.

I hope it lives up to the original (which I know it won't because it's a remake and remakes suck!!!). But I'm going to see it anyway and hopefully I won't be disappointed.
Bruce Campbell has confirmed that he won’t be reprising his most well-known role of Ashley “Ash” Williams in the upcoming remake in the cult classic horror film ‘The Evil Dead,’ Reelz Channel is reporting. However, the actor, who has received mainstream fame in recent years for his starring role as Sam Axe on USA’s hit series ‘Burn Notice,’ will produce the remake with the original film’s director, Sam Raimi, and Robert Tapert.
Of Ash’s exclusion, Campbell has said he and his fellow producers don’t want the remake to have a direct comparison to the original 1981 film. He added that rising director Fede Alvarez, who has signed on to helm the remake, will include better effects and a better story than the original. The producers also don’t want to put an actor in the position of constantly being compared to Campbell’s iconic role. However, Alvarez has hinted that Campbell may appear in a cameo at the end of the remake, adding that the actor will be the only recognizable face in the film.
