New Horror Author - R.J. Spears
I came across this site late last year and have found it to be a wealth of information about a subject I love...zombies.
I wanted to mention to the community that I'm writer who has published several zombie stories and thought that they might be of interest to others here. I hope I'm not spamming.
Anyway, I write primarily crime/mystery and horror. I've been writing for several years, but just added horror to my interests in the past year or so. I fell in love with zombie genre back in 1978 when I saw Romero's "Dawn of the Dead." It just blew me away. I eagerly awaited the release of The Walking Dead series on AMC and , for the most part, have been very pleased with the show.
All of these experiences have influenced my writing. I love crime stories and I love horror when it's well written with compelling plots and characters.

I also just released a zombie short story on Amazon called Dangerous Game.
I'm so glad that I came across this site. I've learned about some zombie books and movies that I would have missed.

You should check out the Tales of the Zombie War site. They have some great stories there.
And keep writing. I started out slow with a few old short stories I had written a few years ago then really started pumping them out. Since Nov. of 2011, I've had 8 stories accepted, but some of them were crime/mystery pieces.
I'm about to release a Zombie novella on Amazon and have a zombie series in the works. The first book is with an editor right now. My editor's very meticulous so it's will be June, at the earliest, before the first books is released. I'm working on the 2nd book now, plus writing a few more short stories.
