Who loves Night of the Creeps as much as I do?

i never said Slither was a bad movie. i got a laugh out of it. i just feel it could have been more original is all. even a tribute or a homage can be poorly done, fairly well done, even good or great. but when i went to see Slither, i was hoping for something original and got nutbusted was all.

I like Slither, very well made. But any horror fan knows the idea came from Night Of The Creeps. Of course James Gunn said it didn't. Is it just me or is he lying? No need to lie, many films take off from others.

It seems like there is a LOT of back and forth on what he's said about it. That is maybe the major problem with the controversy on whether or not it's a throwback/tribute/homage/rip off/etc. Because I've read the opposite in his blogs (which I followed quite extensively for a while, too busy as of lately and WZ keeps me preoccupied, lol) and in other sources. But yes, he originally stated that it wasn't from Night of the Creeps. We had the same opinion before seeing it and reading more, the irritation with the denial that the movie was born from something else. Maybe that was a marketing move? A poor one. James Gunn isn't exactly the kinda guy who goes about his career like a normal person. He's bizarre as h*ll and I still wonder why he originally denied these things.

I stick with my opinion though, labeling it a "rip off" and then moving on discredits the movie, which was fricking fun. Let's agree to disagree and there shall be love abound! ;)

Well I do got one thing to say. Which ending in Night Of The Creeps do you prefer? The theatrical or the director's cut? I pick the director's cut ending. It was more darker and showing that more Creeps will come since they went into the cemetery. I never liked the theatrical ending. That whole dog infects the girl thing was dumb.

i really dig the director's cut ending. left it open for another movie which sadly they never did. the hot babes made me want to go to collage though. get a "higher" education. lol.

very true. i always felt that a sequal was needed for this movie. maybe the girl being infected was put in a cryo-tube like the last guy fron the 50's. then when they least expect it, BAM! the ones that got into the cemetary bring their dead back to life. hitting the audiance from all sides. i cant imagine the ending to a part 2 to this one.

A sequel wouldn't work for this film. The film ending in both versions leave us what could happen next. Some films with endings like that don't need sequels. It's best to leave it with a dark ending. Well...at least in my opinion.
