Original ‘Texas Chain Saw’ Location Becoming Horror BBQ Resort

Imagine becoming the proud owner of one of the most infamous filming locations in the history of cinema…

Reports hit last January (via the Blood Shed) about Ohio businessman and entrepreneur Roy Rose becoming the proud owner of the dilapidated Last Chance Gas Station, the site of the Gulf Oil/BBQ joint in the original Texas Chain Saw Massacre (released in 1974).

It was revealed that Rose’s plans extended beyond simply fixing up the exterior for looky-loos: “…rather he’s transforming the property into a destination site for horror fans (and even their families) complete with restaurant, music venue, retail store, and overnight cabins.”

A year later, Rose has shared new shots from Facebook that promise a “horror BBQ resort.”

Ari Lehman, known as the first ever Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th, is also involved.

No word on when this would open, but things are coming along nicely, and you can keep up with the progress at Rose’s Facebook by clicking below. I’m hoping we can take a trek down there for the gran opening when it’s unveiled…
