YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE...MAYBE TWICE!

Assassin's Creed III is an upcoming game being developed and published by Ubisoft set for release on October 30, 2012. It will be the fifth major installment in the Assassin's Creed series and the third numbered title in the series. It will be set during the American Revolution and will feature a new protagonist, instead of Altaïr ibn La-Ahad or Ezio Auditore da Firenze. Ubisoft has also claimed that the game will be bigger than its previous console installments.

Development

Work on Assassin's Creed III began almost immediately after the release of Assassin's Creed II (2009) by a senior team of Ubisoft developers. When Ubisoft first revealed Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood in 2010, as new details came to light, there was some confusion within the gaming community as to whether this would be Assassin's Creed III. According to the developers Brotherhood was not Assassin's Creed III, and that the third installment will not star a pre-existing character. Ubisoft Montreal's developers stated in their interviews that Assassin's Creed III will be released eventually. Jean-François Boivin of Ubisoft stated that each numbered title in the series will introduce a new lead character and a new setting. Patrice Désilets, former series' creative director, said that the series has always been planned as a trilogy. He also commented on the story of Assassin's Creed III, saying that it will focus on Assassins' quest to prevent the end of the world in 2012, and their race against time to find temples and Apples of Eden built by "Those Who came Before". Desmond will be searching for clues as to the locations of these temples, by exploring memories of one (or more) of his other ancestors.

In October 2011 Alexandre Amacio, creative director of Assassin's Creed: Revelations, announced that the next installment of the franchise was to be released before December 2012, however, Amacio himself would not be directing the game. This comes from the idea that Desmond Miles, the modern day protagonist of the series, was to finish his tale by December 2012. Amacio said that gamers should not have to play a futuristic game after the time period in which it is set.

In Assassin's Creed we set up a timeline with this whole end of the world plot in December 2012... That's fast approaching, and the story we have to tell, we obviously need to do it before we arrive at that point. It would be stupid of us to be centering a game on a semi-reality and then have that conclusion happen after that date in real life.

— Alexandre Amacio

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot confirmed during an earnings call on November 8, 2011, that a new "major" Assassin's Creed game will be released in 2012. Guillemot refused to go into any further detail on the title beyond its confirmation. Speaking to MCV, Guillemot dismissed the notion that annual Assassin's Creed installments are diluting the brands, stating instead that they're necessary to "satisfy the demand". Guillemot also claimed in the same interview that this year's Assassin's Creed will be the series' "biggest to date."

"Assassin's Creed III is the true next generation of both the Assassin's Creed brand and interactive entertainment/storytelling in general. We will push the title a lot because it's a fantastic product that the team has been working on for three years. What we have seen is just fabulous."

—Yves Guillemot, Ubisoft CEO.

In February 2012, Ubisoft officially confirmed the existence of Assassin's Creed III, and its release date of October 30, 2012. He went on to say the publisher's investing more heavily in the game than in any other title in the series.

Reports of Assassin's Creed III would take place during the American Revolution surfaced following a supposed "inside source" at Ubisoft claimed that in January 2012. On February 29, 2012, an upcoming promotional image of the game was sent to Kotaku by a Best Buy employee, along with information from the retailer that a full reveal was imminent. The leaked promotional image led to a general consensus that the game is set in North America during the American Revolution, and at least in part, a snowy setting. Around the same time, Ubisoft mentioned "a major announcement from Assassin's Creed" was "only days away" via the series' official Facebook. The page's cover photo also depicted a snowy and bleak setting. Further GameInformer appeared ready to confirm the fresh details via an advertising banner posted on its site. Images show the new assassin standing next to American revolutionary leader George Washington.

Following the reports, Ubisoft released Assassin's Creed III's official box art on March 1, 2012, which confirms the game's American Revolution setting. The company said it will announce "all the details" at 5pm on 5 March. Additionally,Game Informer revealed its latest cover feature which includes more artwork of the game's new main character.

I hear this is a awesome game series. I never played it though. dont have the game system to play it. lol.

xD Rhino, bro, they made it for Xbox and PS3 and... -Checks-

As quoted by Wikipedia:

"The games have appeared on the PlayStation 3Xbox 360Microsoft WindowsMac OS XNintendo DSPlayStation PortableiOSHP webOS,[1] AndroidNokia Symbian and Windows Phone platforms, with a PlayStation Vita on the way, and will be coming to the Wii U. "

still cant play them because i dont have Xbox or the other systems that play them and as far as systems like a PC goes. all i got is an HP Mini Notebook. not enough memory to load and play them. lol. see. i am still S.O.L. (Shit Out of Luck) lol.

Well, chance ya get maybe you could save the dough you'd spend on a rifle and toss it towards an Xbox and some games?

A far more vast variety in the gaming market from everything to little kids games to the most violent choices, allowing for RPGs, Shooters, Platformers and so on. We have a larger third-party game making industry than Sony, and with the Kinect you don't have to lug around a controller, or buy a plastic rifle that feels like you're holding a club in your hands just to play shooting games with the Kinect efficiently. That, and with new anticipated games, more downloadable content, and the fact that ours gets to us faster than yours gets to you it's just a better choice. ;3 And need I mention that we don't get hacked up the ass by people who get annoyed with crack downs on people who fuck up systems?

The graphics aren't different at all. Visual display is the same because the games are created to be the same. The only thing that gave Sony and edge back in the day was that it HAD to have everything in HD, otherwise the games would look like a complete shitstorm. Now that EVERYONE uses HD, or at least the majority of people, we are at an even there, though our games just look better because I say they do ;D. MAG? People still play that? And do you mean God of War? It's a shit game that runs the same stuff every fucking time you play through it. I've played it end to end, and the story is fucking retarded. Halo is a fucking great game. The only thing that needs work is hit detection on ONE single game type, that being infection, and still that's an amazing game type. The story, which still has Halo 4, 5, and 6 coming out, is well made and well done, being a hands on experience that actually gives you the feeling that you're making a change in shit rather than just JUMP N' SHOOTIN'! CoD is for both PS and Xbox, so uhm... Don't shit talk that unless you want to talk down on your own system. And a Wii? Seriously? The thing has HALF the quality of a Dreamcast! And all OS works fucking fine. It's idiots who put viruses in their computers because they think they can just keep visiting sites without security measures or clicking ads and downloading programs into their PC's to fuck in their shit. I mean FUCK! A Mac is just a piece of shit wanna be that can't do anything on it's own so it steals from PC, and STILL can't do shit except for use programs that a PC could use just as well, and that those were INTENDED for PC's anyways! And sheep? The fuck do you mean by sheep? What are we? Being guided around? We have a massive online community that allows us choices from a wide variety and we CHOOSE what we want. As for our third party developers? They have massively different projects coming out, and I have yet to see PS3 doing anything close to what we do. To me, a PS3 deserves just to be sold as scraps.

First reply goes to the bottom. They get hacked to stop getting hacked? No, they don't invest money into their security and still haven't even after the last shit storm. As for fastest modded systems? They did a crackdown on that back in 2008 and continued to do so since then. Trust me, me and about every single other person felt the shock of that shit, and we all lost our xbox's having to have them stripped of the modded materials and banned from Live, as well as the piece removed that allows us to play burnt games being put back on. And I don't feel it suffice to work as an 'exercise' tool, but something to further my fucking gaming experience. As for PC (Mac can suck a big fat dick because the only good games they got come from PC and/or using a program that allows them to play and use PC programs because they themselves can't make original shit.), I have to agree with you to an extent. PC gaming is amazing, and I love to do it. Has a good feel to it, but not as great as a controller. Sure, some games would allow me to just hook a controller up to my PC and play it like that, but it always leaves me wanting for more because I can't exactly hotkey everything or work everything the same. Sony isn't harder to hack, they take forever to fix things and can't just release a small patch that takes a couple of minutes to download, just enough for me to grab those snacks and a soda, before my shit is back up and running. So yeah.

i am almost able to spare the dough for one or the other here soon. after i get just one more case of rifles and one more of pistols. i will soon have not only enough ammo to outfit fifty people with 500 rounds of 9MM ammo and 7.62x39 ammo. but also the weapons they will need to fire them. then i will feel safe enough to let loose some cash for a game system. lol.

yea, every one of these games is official! Ill pick this up

Way to go Wayne. It's gonna be rockin'!
