Wicked Zombies

YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE...MAYBE TWICE!

Everyone has their own interpretation of what the movements and abilities of the undead will be.  What are your thoughts?  Can they run, leap, and hunt like wild animals?  Or are they sluggish horde hunters that trap with numbers rather than physical ability?

I have asked the same question will they hunt for food and in turn spread the infection or bite and move on not so interested in feeding in order to spread the infect to as many as possible?
I've thought this whole time they were basically brain dead, with the simplest urge to eat.  That suggests that they feel the need to feed, which suggests they feel pain.  That's a whole can of worms that I don't want to open right now.  I'm just wondering why we assume undead can become super athletes, when normal people weighing in at 300 pounds could never run as fast as their undead forms.
you know another question to pose (and one that is becoming more prevelant in modern stories) is the longer the zombies dont eat, the more they decay and eventually they will die of starvation...now, if the body is dead, it will naturally decay, eating or not...so are zombies going to actually feed for nourishment to slow the deacaying process, or just feed for the hell of it, just some primal cannabilistic instinct? (of course cannibals technically isnt an accurate word, as zombies dont eat other zombies), so if a zombie doesnt eat, will it in fact starve to "death" or will the body eventually decay so bad to the point that it will just shatter and "die"? or will all z's reach a certain level of decomposition and wander forever (unless killed by us of course) regardless of if they eat or not? I mean, as humans yes well die if we dont eat after so long...but well also die much faster without WATER...ever seen a zombie grab a bottle of aquafina and rhydrate himself? I havent...
I think that whatever virus infects them perpetuates their functions so they can survive on very little nourishment.  I think if the virus runs out of the little nourishment it requires, the zombies will just decay and break down.
GOOD POINT CASECLOSER I HAVE TO AGREE
but they are already decayin and breaking down, does it reach an eventual point that they just decay and break down until there is absolutely nothing left, or does the decaying and breaking down only reach a certain point so that that they can still function? and at that point will they need nourishment to continue to survive or will they just continue to decay? if a z has been dead for 2 days, its gonna be a lot different than one thats been roaming around for a month...so does the one thats a month old need to eat to further survive?
the virus can only survive as long as its carriers can survive, so im sure after a while the virus mutates and stops the zombies from decaying any further.
I think the effective stages of how the undead move and attack would be in direct correlation to their decayed state. for example a freshly rebirthed zombie would be fast and strong, assuming they had all their limbs still. Then after a few weeks they would start to slow down a bit and so on and so forth. thus the final stage would be the classic night of the living dead stumblers and crawlers slowly chasing down their next meal.
The problem is that all the literature has different theories.  I'm standing with my idea that since they're decaying, they have to be noticeably slower than normal humans.

I like the slow no skill of them
