The Hiker

I hiked down another moutain and into a quite deep but comfortable valley it was then when I saw the first one I had seen in a while bout 6 or 7 months anyway it was probably one of the firsts he was a hiker like me though he was wearing a dickies outfit and some timberland boots at first all I did was sigh I thought about how in a past life we could of been friends and then I thought that was something all soldiers think and then he charged I whipped my Walther P22 out of my holster and shot from the hip and into the head

I almost sort of regretted shooting dickies but almost was as far as it went and then my mind turned toward ofter more pressing matters like finding a place to stay the night for it was going to get dark soon and dark out here ain't like dark you ever seen we're talking pitch black dark and I'd rather not have to stay up the whole night listening for zack to creep up and bite me in the ass

What I found was a little cave out on a small ridge nothing too big that I couldn't climb and the cave was a good size at least good enough for me so after I laid my gear down I went out to find some brush and fallen timber to lay infront of the entrance, what I found was something we call concertina bush it's a bush with real thick stems and branches but with super sharp thornes on it so I carefully dragged that to the cave put it in front of the entrace then began my other rituals

Like always I dangled my very heavy tarp in front of the entrance to keep light from getting out and made sure it was a tight fit then made a little fire out of the few branches and twigs I'd picked up along the way

Well after all that I started scrounging through my pack looking for something to eat and alls I found was a can of vienna sausages and some Tuna I decided to save the Tuna for later so I ate a heaping helping of 5 vienna sausages for dinner that night after that like always I'd pick up my book Under the Dome by Stephen King a 1000 or so page book that I must've read more than a few times my favorite character was Dale "Barbie" Barbara in case you cared

so after reading about Barbie and his compadres I hit the sack and hoped tomorrow I might be able to get some real food and maybe have a real conversation with a real person for a change while I'm at it well good night
