The Countdown Ended 2

As the night time air flowed through the small stone room, my mind wandered off and thought back. It had only been six days ago that I was on my way home from the store getting a few groceries and what not, nothing major just weekend supplies. When over the radio it was played the cheap annoying static ringing then the warning. I pulled over to listen, and that was my first mistake.

“THIS IS NOT A TEST WE REPEAT THIS IS NOT A TEST

THE FEVER OUTBREAK THAT HAS BEEN SPREADING ALL OVER THE STATE

HAS INFACT TURNED OUT TO BE FAR WORSE THAN ANYONE FIRST GUEST

THOSE WHO HAVE DIED FROM THE ILLNESS . HAVE IN FACT RETURNED FROM

THE DEAD”

A joke it was to be some type of joke is all I could think

“STAY HOME LOCK YOUR DOORS THE GOVERNOR HAS ISSUED MARSHAL LAW

AND HAS ORDERED SEVERAL TROOPS TO COME INTO THE LOCAL AREAS

FOR EVACUATIONS”

As I sat there the flow of traffic got worse, people were speeding and driving crazier then ever before, my mind was too busy watching the idiots to even notice the homeless person approaching my car. I didn’t even notice he was carrying a severed head in his hand.


I bolted straight up from my sleep, and stood quietly something was nearby outside the tower walking around in the thick brush. Waiting and taking shallow breathes I listened, their foot steps were too soft to be the undead, and I swear I could smell Zest body soap
