Wicked Zombies

YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE...MAYBE TWICE!

Day 113

1345 hrs

Our patrols have found lots of different compound bows among the many abandon trucks and cars on the road and in some abandon trailers in the past several weeks, So we now have hundreds of arrows both broadheads and practice point and have put them to good use after hours and hours of training. Our patrols have used them to take out individual infected at close range without drawing attention to themselves and wasting a 9mm round from our HK MP5SD's. We've also used them to send notes to some armed camps with survivors from a 100 yards out to make contact with them without risking our lives. We have cases of glow sticks that we found, so we tape glow sticks to the arrows and if a patrol is in trouble and a rapid reaction force needs to be deployed they use the arrow and glowstick like a signal flare to be located faster. We had a lone armed man fire on one of our patrols at night last week but only one girl saw the muzzle flash, so she took the patrols compound bow and sent a glow stick to within yards of where he sat after bouncing off a rock, then they saw him move, the patrol opened up with a few bursts from the AK's and M-4's, not sure if he was hit since it was to dangerous to look for his body, and it ready didn't matter anyways since he never fired again. Just remember tracers work both ways at night. You can't beat a compound bow for steath out in the field and some girls are alot better in practice, so they are the designated archers on patrols, We have spools of det cord taken from the Class III dealers store along with cans of gunpowder we also found, so now we are working on incendiary arrows for special applications if need be.

During the Battle of Crécy, fought on August 26, 1346 the English archers could shoot an average of 10 arrows per minute with accuracy, now if Task Force Amazons designated archers could only be half as good.
