Wicked Zombies

Cockney's vs. Zombies is one of those rare zombie action/comedies that really works.  It's not as funny or snappy as Shaun of the Dead, but there were some good laughs, some gross zombies, and good acting across the board.

You start out with some crusty old folks about to lose their retirement home and a really bad plan by one of the resident's grand-kids to rescue the home.  It rolls from there with a zombie outbreak and the ride across town to get to the home.  I would give this one two thumbs up.

Yes, this was a surprisingly good and fun-filled zombie movie with some welcome gore too. Having some young people team up with retirement folks was an inspired idea. And it was cool seeing Honor Blackman, aka Pussy Galore from Goldfinger, who still looks great, along with Michelle Ryan, who played the Bionic Woman on NBC's short-lived remake. Definitely worth checking out.

Yeah, I kept looking at that actress and wondering where I had seen her before.  Who is that?  Thank goodness for IMDB.  I liked the Bionic Woman and was disappointed when it was cancelled.  Definitely a different role for her.

I usually DO NOT like horror and comedy to mix, but I thought this movie was really funny and stupid in a good way. I was bored and decided to watch it on Netflix. Everyone should at least check it out.

I think horror/comedy is a hard thing to pull off, but they did it with this one.  I've seen some try it and it just turned into bad campiness.

I agree, it can be tough to pull off a good horror/comedy hybrid, but the British seem to excel at it, w/ this, Shaun of the Dead, Doghouse, The Cottage. And certain directors too, like Peter Jackson, with Bad Taste, Dead Alive and a favorite of mine, The Frighteners. John Landis' American Werewolf in London is certainly one of the best, and his Innocent Blood was good too. And Frank Henenlotter, w/ his Basket Case films, Brain Damage and Frankenhooker, sure knows what he's doing. Zombieland, Dead Snow, Tucker and Dale vs. Evil, and John Dies at the End are some more recent examples, and I could go on, so I guess there are a good number out there after all.

Frankenhooker, now that takes me back.   That was a pretty raw movie, but very funny in you're in the right frame of mind.

I remember seeing a promo poster for it and it had a quote from Bill Murray.  It said:
"If you must see one movie this year, make it be Frankenhooker."

I'm a huge fan of American Werewolf in London.  Griffen Dunne's part capture dark comedy at it's best.  Zombieland is pretty good, too.

Dead Snow starts out in a serious tone, but definitely opens up to a more comedic side as it progresses. I remember belly laughing a couple times at how audacious it was.

I liked Tucker and Dale vs Evil, but felt it lost it's fun quality toward the ending.

love this movie, !!! have it on dvd, and blueray, !! i can watch this movie over and over, !! its a must see movie, !!

geriatrics killing zombies whats not to love!

Been Awhile, BUt I'm still Alive

Greetings Everyone,    Well it's been awhile. As things go, life carries us all in different directions from time to time but you always find your way home sooner or later. Well, life ain't all fun and games, but right now, things are going good. I have restarted my writing on my book again, and as I learn more about about some of the ROle-playing games I have gotten into, I am seriously thinking about rying to create an actual Zombie Survival Role-playing game. But have not set any time…
