Wicked Zombies

Hello All,

I want to announce the publication of my book, The Official Zombie Handbook UK, through Severed Press. I've got a few short stories out there but this is my first book & I hope it's something a few of you will be interested in.

I'm a long-term zombie fan (if any of you at ZombieFest in the UK in August I will be there in a Mexican outfit) & spent the last 2-3 years researching/projecting/estimating & consulting on how a major zombie outbreak would really go down here in the UK.

I tried to research every angle from police & army responses to longterm hideout locations & real survival tips. Although based on the UK, I think the information will be just as relevant to any country or city with loads of people, few guns & a zero awareness of the zombie menace.

Anyway, here is some blurb & a few links. I would welcome any feedback from this learned forum.

Through pioneering research & field work, the Ministry of Zombies has just published the Official Zombie Handbook UK, which is the only government-approved guide you need to make it through a major zombie outbreak in this country. It includes :-

  • Full analysis of the latest scientific information available on the zombie virus, the living dead creatures it creates & most importantly, how to take them down..
  • Details on the threat we face - the lighting quick infected, sluggish ghouls, undead dogs, zombie prawns - your questions answered by the top scientists in the murky field of zombiology such as Dr Khalid Ahmed..
  • Everything you need to implement a complete '90 Day Zombie Survival Plan' for you & your family including fortification, foraging for supplies & transport in zombie Britain
  • Detailed case studies & guidelines on how to battle the living dead, which weapons to use, what we can get here in the UK & how to survive in the long-term....

I'd very much welcome your feedback, you can also follow things on my website :-

That's great - I really hope you like it - if you do, then if you would post a review on Amazon that would be really helpful.

I love your piccie by the way :o)
this looks like a good read. i will order it after the 1st of the month.
Hey Rhino,

Yeah I've had good feedback so far. I haven't padded it all with bumpf - I wanted plenty of facts & plans to survive the ghouls - not just climb a tree advice. Some of it I had to project, some of it I could use emergency plans we already have in place. I even put guidelines in there if you are stuck abroad during a zombie crisis & advice for those with disabilities - I tried to cover all the angles.

Anyway, again, any feedback really appreciated & any reviews on amazon would really help. I'm also involved in a few zombie writing projects so might be good to keep with peeps here who write short stories, that kind of thing...
the fact that you included the disabled is a BIG plus for me. i like the fact that at least on man out there has kept the disabled in mind. the authors of "THE ZOMBIE SURVIVAL GUIDE" and "THE ZOMBIE COMBAT MANUAL" seemed to "omit" we the disabled and that really anoid me. its like they chucked us up to instant zombie chow. so for a man like you to have included us, thank you so much. now i know i gotta get this and read it. i promise i will get it and read it. and i will review it.
Yeah - I designed a 90 day survival plan - I also read the guidelines for people with disabilities in a crisis & thought, hell, I wouldn't hang a white sheet out my window when the zombies arrive, advertising to all that you are safely fortified & supplied....

So, I looked at the challenges - to be honest, in London, people with any kind of physical disability need to be so well-organised to use say the tube, that their level of preparation will slot very well into emergency preparation for the ghouls.... Virtually every tube station has stairs & no lift...

I considered if you were unable to speak - would people assume you are a zombie & take you down? For any partially sighted, I considered a long sweeping weapon as the best choice, like a halberd if you can get hold of one...

Thanks for your kind comments - I really hope I you like it...
I forget - a few weeks ago there was a competition to make a trailer - no funding - it was just a bunch of zombie fans....

Here's the link -

Yeah hats off to a girl called Tabitha who made it. The publisher offered their complete catalogue - T put it all together with her team of friends - i will get her to post the bloopers - it's funnier than the real one - in the scene where they were wandering across the lawn, an ice cream van came round the corner - it was classic...

Someone said we shouldn't give a kid a gun - too late, it was already done. We are bad people.
Joy will have the last laugh when the ghouls come to town & her cherubs are hacking through the undead....that's the kind of mum you want...kick ass...
Picked up a good review from zombiemall.com - I've got a lot of time for this site so I was chuffed with it really.

Yeah - they are trying to sort it out - I think I'm probably in the same situation as Remy with his book - it's nice to get good feedback but when it comes from people on forums & people who know their zombies - it means much more.

We tend to know our sh*t so it needs to be geniune...we love zombies - well, we love hacking em anyway.

Yeah, they probably lashed it to a carrier pigeon - he will be arriving stateside in about a week :o)

Seriously - I hope that damn bird gets through - he is known as speckled Jim :o)
