unwanted visitors

It was quiet day everyone had finally been able to rest after the operation clean sweep in the town we stopped in. We had thought it to be a safe area but we had one hell of rude awakening as dawn broke we seen the creatures slowly marching our way. The alarms went off everyone went to their stations, but wat we didnt realize is the amount of them coming our way. supplies were running low already and are back up hadnt arrived yet. we had emptyed over a 1000 rounds at the ones we had seen. the sound of guns and gernades were so loud that we had attracted more of them to our postion. this was not looking good for us at all. we tried contacting the help we need but no answer was heard. three days of hell had fallen upon us in the blink of an eye we all feared the worse. next thing i know rockets go flying by hitting the unwanted visitors blowing them to pieces. as smiles came upon our faces i looked at the troops and said " this aint no damn picnic keep firing". but with all great fights comes unwanted deaths. some had crawled passed our gunners and took down atleast 15 of our our troops. after the fight was done we sent three men on the cleaning job making sure they were all dead. i'd like to say it was a proud day for human kind and it was but it was the worse day too. towards the end i lost my wife family ( as all had lost) and we all lost brothers and sisters that day. because of that day i have become cold as stone and a much greater leader too.
