YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE...MAYBE TWICE!

The Raven, The King, The Princess, And Their Golden Crown
(No Fear, No Dread, No Dead)
Haley DeVoss Luebben

From Red to Violet, under the Rainbow's bridge the clouds hide. They do not fear of the Trolls, for with them they carry Pride. The Faeries wonder what's going to happen, but they stay down. Only the Princess knows along with her love and their Golden Crown.
Faeries and rain, Glitter and pain, Pixies flutter, Trolls to shudder. Wings in the sky, singing Good Bye. The War now starts let it bring hearts... to bleed. And so they feed! Eating the dead. Lay no more, fear no dread. Always to be never so free.
With Glitter they fight, it shines in light, the War between the Pixies and Trolls. Faeries join them, with Silver wings and shiny things. Blood and dust! Trees and rust! They all fall down, pray to the Golden Crown.
The Raven watches them, He stalks them. Look now! They have gone mad! Who's to say the Trolls are so bad? The Pixies fight back, They do not surrender, they do not talk. So who's to Hate? Who knows such Fate? The Princess? Her King? Could it be... The Raven? When will the day end?
They fall; they crawl; now fading away. The Trees listen as they sway. "Come ye, come ye! Is it final? Do these creatures bleed for no life? Will they put down the knife?" And with this said, the Raven decides to leave, to His castle He goes, letting the Faeries grieve.
Let me tell you now of when said enemies used to be friends. Back when the Pixies and Trolls gave life together, when they and the Faeries would say, “Let’s live on forever!”
Back when neither fights nor problems arose, only kindness and love. The most of their hurt was the prick of a rose. To see, to see, the Raven watched all. He never would have thought of such a fall. The Princess was so happy. Her King was so bright. But aye, the Golden Crown was the best of thee. It shone and gave what needed be given; helping them whom needed help.
As the Crown itself, her hair was of such Gold. In the sun it grew brighter, as did her peach pale skin. The King was in her heart as she was in his. With the Raven as their eyes, they’d watch over their Kingdom of lovers and friends.
“What brings you to us, is it the end?” The kind Princess asked, as the Raven had tapped about her window. His eyes were dark, blacker then night. His feathers were soaked… with fear and blood.
“The War now starts, do not fear, do not dread. Let thee live and with them come no dead.”
Her head hung down in sorrow, thinking what would come of the morrow. With tears in her eyes she ran to her King, to tell him of such horrid things. He stood up in laughter, even though his eyes showed none.
“Let them fight, let them run.” He said, holding his bride. “Let them and they will realize what they mean to each other. Just as when brother fights brother.”
That night they slept, more or less. The Princess with her back faced towards her wedding dress. What will come of my Kingdom, she wondered.
As the King was out, speaking to his servant, he told him what should be a must.
“The Trolls are wrong about the Faeries,” he said, “They do not bring harm with their dust.”
“The Pixies have gone mad about the Trolls and their homes,” Replied the Raven.
“Even the Skinks have been worried, even the gnomes.
“They fear the Trees will be no more if the Trolls keep them as a house.
“They have been awfully quiet; it’s not them to be such a mouse.”
And the King told the Raven that they are to fight it out, but no harm will come for on Wedding night, all will be in return. The dead will live, the poor will be brought to riches, and the weak will be once again strong. For on that night, the Crown will give one last time. The Crown will use it’s last of life and restore itself to the Princess as a ring. As she becomes Queen she will become the Golden Crown. As strange as it is, it’s the truth to be found.
As the next day went by the Princess had the Raven watch over the land, and so he did.
The King sat in his throne, keeping the other servants to do as he wished.
And the Golden Crown was watching what the Raven saw and he was watching it all.
Trolls fought down the Pixies, and they put the Trolls up. On ground, in trees, everywhere they fell. And the Raven watched it all.
The Faeries got out their magical sticks, their wands, their Glitter, and used them well. Pixies with flames, Pixies with water, they drowned and burned all they could. Now trees were no more then burnt up wood. And the Raven watched it all.
At last they all were down. No more fear, no more dread, they were all dead…
With a sigh the Princess put on her last of white. Her wedding gown was shining in the light. The King behind a wall, with others like them. They waited for Her, they whispered of Her.
She put on a smile, for it would soon be over. She’d be Queen and her Kingdom alive once again. She loved him so, her King. And now she heard the final ring as her Father came to give her blessings, he hooked his arm with hers and they left her room. The notes were in air, all was to play fair.
Dressed in white was also the King, his eyes were of joy as she was soon to be his.
The Raven now a Dove sat perched up high. He watched it all. The rise and fall.
Now rise again and they all did so, as the Princess stood in front of her King. Now wedded with the Golden Crown on her hand, a golden wedding band.
Watching them were Pixies and Trolls, the Faeries clapped their wings, the Trees swayed to make applause.
King and Queen they were now, and the Raven back to black himself. The land was of magic once more; they all lived together with such glee, for they would always be never so free.
And so it goes that with happiness comes sorrow and it all turns Gold.
A tale of Warriors and Knights, Kings and Queens was now told.
