A virus, maybe?
I have a hypothesis zombification could be as a result of a highly infectious virus. This does make a lot of sense, from a biologist’s point of view. Let’s call the virus ZAIDS. With this hypothesis, the virus works just like the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), where it enters the bloodstream, attaches itself to the white blood cells and releases its genetic material into the cell. Basically, the white blood cell would now begin to produce the DNA of HIV, and so more members of the virus are created, with the human cell being the controlled host. Only thing is that for zombies, the brain would have to be taken over, so the ZAIDS virus would enter the brain cells and do the same thing. Think of it this way: the viruses enslave the brain cells to produce their offspring. Of course, all severe viruses (or all infectious viruses for that matter) have epic physical bodily effects, and because ZAIDS would attack the central nervous system (brain), there would be effects all over the body, you know, cuz the brain controls all. One such effect could be multiple organ dysfunction, since brain signals to the vital organs would be warped or stop completely. Also there would be severe mental disorder, which leads to their wacko behaviour. To me, it seems plausible, but hey, it’s still a hypothesis.
Please, don’t contract ZAIDS.

so far i am diet controlled. but the whole insulin thing is no treat either. as long as i am diet controlled in my management. i am more then happy. my mom and dad have to take 100 units after every meal because they run so high. especially dad. he could eat a simple sandwich and run a blood sugar so high that when tested, all the glucose reader will read is one word. "HI". that usually means it is higher then 500. very dangerous.

OR here's another way it could work (even though this does make sense)- for an illness like diabetes, we mass produce insulin using gene technology, where they cut out the portion of DNA that codes for insulin in humans, then add it to the plasmid DNA in the E.Coli bacterium, forming recombinant DNA that, when the bacteria multiplies to the millions, would produce large amounts of insulin. same insulin is injected into the human. what if there was a change in the DNA sequence? what if the baterial DNA mutates, or evolves? let your imagination do the rest... ill blog a hypothesis on this later.

remember me mentioning the flu as a form of virus to speed contagion along? the flu would be the better of them considering. reason i bring this up is because in fall and winter. flu accounts for well over half the diseases that hospitalize people. if that dont give you the shivers. here is the cheese for the cracker so to speak. people who line up for these flu shot are the main ones lining up to be good zombies because in that shot is a mixture of flu strains. and the newest yet. H1N1 (also known as swine flu) is in this mix. so if you combine all that i mentioned with the all the flu viruses in a flu vaccine shot. anyone who has been exposed to this vaccine could be either a good carrier of the zombie virus like Typhoid Mary or worse. i for one NEVER intend to get a flu shot for this very reason.

yeah... thats y i sort of question vaccines, since they're just milder strains of the same virus. and dude, now u got me freaked out over that "human equivalent to the mad cow disease" stuff o.O u know, i think we have a bit of research to do...

it tends to keep me up at nights thinking about it. its some really scarey shit. and the fact there would be not current vaccines that would even slow it down because of the make up of the initial virus is even more scary.
