They are included in most zombie movie encyclopedias and books. Although not technically "zombies" they are often classified as such.

It's just another inventive variation on the zombie theme. Sure, they are possessed, but they are also very much walking dead. They get hacked up, diced, sliced, and still they came back, and even more and more decayed....... it fuckin' rules!
