YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE...MAYBE TWICE!

What do you get when you cross a shield with a guillotine? -THE TOMBSTONE

So what do you get when you cross a shield with a guillotine? two and half feet of wood and hardened steel undead brain bashing lovingly dubbed, "The Tombstone"! the only thing better then smashing zombie skulls in while protecting yourself from blood splatter and mashing rotted teeth, is the satisfying thump of their maggot ridden heads hitting the ground after having driven the tempered edge of this precision blade through their necks. the dead may have risen from their graves but the Tombstone sends them back Rest In Peace you undead freaks!

THE TOMBSTONE 2.0

A possible new addition to my popular tombstone shield, encompasses a stainless steel dome bolted to the front. it is used to greater concentrate the point of force for shield bashing, as well as protecting the otherwise exposed strings for the handle. finally it serves to better protect against bladed weapons making the shield more practical for combat against living opponents. this is just a mock up and I'd like to gauge the community's reaction before proceeding. so what do you think yea or nay on this new mod?

diabetics walk around without sensation in their bodies all the time. my doctor told me of a case where a guy had to have his whole leg took off due to infection because he stepped on a hot-wheels car and it imbedded in the bottom of his foot. it was there for months. he had no idea it was there until it showed up in an x-ray and the foot was so bad with infection that it was unable to be saved. so it is possible to walk around without the sensation of pain. and being the nerves to move limbs are basic motor nerves and not sensory nerves like for pain. then it would be more then plausible for a zombie to be able to walk and feel absolutely no pain. now as far as placement goes. i would say the center. because when you go to use it to push away. the center comes into contact with the body more then the edges. ;)

yeah but thats partial numbness not complete sensory shutdown. if your whole body was numb it would nearly impossible to do all the coordination necessary for walking. your body can compensate for partial loss of input but not total. and if the pain nerves are dead it goes to figure that all touch nerves would also be dead. as for the hot wheel guy that probably had more to do with how his brain interpenetrated the pain then his nerves. your mind can block out prolonged or extreme pain. its a survival mechanism, or he may may have had a extremely high threshold for pain. meaning he didn't react to it the same way you and i do. but I'm not a neural biologist, and zombies have not yet rose from their graves so the whole point is mote. i can tell you this when the dead do start coming back to life I'm gonna catch me one early on to experiment with. if the internet still working i'll post my finding here.

as for the dome the main reason for it is to cover up the exposed back of the para-cord handle. which is why it is where it is up front. putting it in the center would make it look cooler and help with ramming but it wouldn't cover those strings. I'm worried that against an opponent armed with a bladed weapon those strings could be cut and i would lose my handle making the shield useless. also when i swing the shield around it the forward edge that makes contact so it will also helps there. so what do you think should i got for it or do something else. oh and i can put the electronics for the tazer under the shield too protecting it and keeping it out of sight. cleaner that way.

in my opinion. go for it. ;)

as for what i was trying to get across on the guy and the hot-wheels car. this link may help clear this up a bit and give some insight on what5 i was trying to get at. lol

very interesting, well regardless of its effectiveness on the undead at least we can say it will be a very good tool against the living, who as we all should know are much worse then the dead.

I want one! Are you planing to sell this to the public?

this is a prototype and its not even complete yet. not to mention i don't have the materials to make multiples so sorry no. i encourage you to look around your home and try and make one fro what you have at hand. i would be happy to assist you in design.
