YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE...MAYBE TWICE!
Okay, here's the thing... I've been asked by my publisher to create an RPG based on the 'world' I built for my new ROT & RUIN series of novels.
The first book, ROT & RUIN, was published in harcover by Simon & Schuster late last year and will be in paperback in May. The second book, DUST & DECAY, will be released in August. There will be two more books after that (FLESH & BONE and FIRE & ASH).
The series is set 14 years after a zombie apocalypse (pretty much NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD as the working mythology).
I would appreciate any advice...since I know only two things about RPG's: jack and squat.
Jonathan - I don't know if you are still doing this or not but Scatoma and I participated in a RPG here on WZ that was fun. Infinity Crisis I believe. It was really fun and very easy. I don't know why but someone deleted it all. There was another couple that are gone too. I wish I could have shown them to you because they were pretty long and well thought out.
Did you ever get any suggestions for this? I know that it's possible that there were posts here that may be gone. There is one group left that had a RPG going based on some anime. Here is the link: http://www.wickedzombies.com/group/elfenliedroleplay Kom Lindsey set this one up. You can see it has sections for character profiles, actual role playing and then the comment section is typically used for chatter between participants.
Komrad Sunyak sets these up too. So you might get some great advice from him. I know I'm a couple of months late, but since I didn't see replies, thought I'd bring it back up.
"Benny Imura couldn't hold a job, so he took to killing." from Rot & Ruin
In the zombie-infested world Benny has grown up in, every teenager must work once they turn fifteen, or they’ll lose their food rations. Benny isn’t interested in taking on the family business, but he reluctantly agrees to train as a zombie killer with his boring big brother, Tom. He expects a dull job, whacking zombies for cash. What he discovers is a vocation that will teach him what it really means to be human.
As Benny’s worldview is challenged again and again by the lessons he learns from Tom, he is forced to confront another horrifying reality: sometimes, the most terrible monsters are the human ones.
The Rot & Ruin series of young adult novels offers a terrifying future vision of the zombie apocalypse, brought to life through the rich emotional struggles of a teenager trying to find his place in a tumultuous new world.
