post apocalyptic cospaly
so while researching for my zombie hunter con costume i fell in love with post apocalyptic cosplay. everything from fallout props to original works. it's just such a cool look and you can do anything with it. it requires little money if you know how to scavenge and helps prepare all of us for what it's gonna be like after they rise. i felt wickedzombies was a good place to bring this to help expand the site. so with all that in mind I'm going to be posting cool stuff i make and design here. and if you catch the bug or maybe if you already have it then i welcome you to post your stuff here too.

just finished the first pass of weathering on the riffle you gave me rhino. made it look all scratched up, looks a lot more real now.after this i just need to dirty it up a bit and add some accessory. some rag wraps, tape the handle, add some tribal touches. maybe a Jerry-rigged repair or too. i already added a rosary to it. also i just ordered the charger to make it work too.

this would be an awesome addition to your costume. have the shotgun in hand. the rifle slung over the shoulder. the bat and holster at your side. oh yeah. the ultimate wanderer of the wasteland. now would be a sweet time to do a complete photo of your costume.

Yeah ill try and get the pic done soon. Ill have to improvise some kinda sling for the riffle. I also got some fake grenades coming in with the charger. Figure ill wear them around my waist in pouches made from old food cans. How do you think that sounds?

Sounds good. They can double as booby traps when you gotta hole up somewhere over night.

yeah like in that phantasm sequel. in the mean time i gotta figure out a sling for the rifle and dirty it up some more. I'm thinking of using some shoe polish on it and then maybe dragging it around in sand of the baseball field near my house. but you got any ideas for the sling?

well i figured out the sling. i used an old braided belt. the front was easy i just fed one end through the sling bracket it and then tapped it to its self. for the butt end i had to fabricate a mount since the gun didn't come with an attachment there.
i had this length of nylon webbing with a buckle on it from my old Alice back. i taped the end of the belt to the middle and then just cinched the buckle up tight.
i also wrapped a bit of the barrel in twine and added some red duck-tape to the magazine. i think its really coming along.
