New renewable light runs on gravity

That's right this new idea in easy renewable light sources doesn't use battery's or even sunlight to run, just gravity. okay it's not really a new idea, many old clocks such as grandfather and coco have used this design before. you have a weight that slowly falls generating movement that runs the mechanism. what is new is using this old world approach to generate electricity to power a light. marketed to Africa and Asia as a better alternative to kerosene. these lights need only a bag of rocks, dirt or water. really anything will do. and for the three seconds it takes to lift the weight will give you 30 minuets of light.and can be run consecutively and indefinitely.

as a bonus the gravity light can also power other things through the two post terminals on the front. from other flashlight, to radios and even recharging battery's. this makes it not just another sustainable light. but an all around electric generator with out any of draw backs and limitations of solar. cloud will never slow you down again. the whole unit works like a wind up flashlight except gravity's doing the work for you.

i can see this being a great addition to your home preps. perhaps a little to big for a bob, but perfect for when you've boarded up all your windows and need renewable light with out access to the sun. of course it will also be great for bunkers and other safe rooms.
