Edinburg Castle
So My take on the whole where to stay and rebuild thing is the greatest ever... CASTLES!!! Yep... Here is one of them that I thought would be good. The Edinburg castle. Now I know there will be some difficulty with this. Mainly because we live in America and its not like you can drive down the street and oops there it is but I think the benefits drastically out way the risks of any other places and even the journey. Okay here are the bullet points to help you see.
* Has working and stocked cannons, catapults. As well as a very well stocked small arsenal in house.
* Well stocked with food and drink.
* Only one entrance to guard with a high top guard house as well as interior and exterior gates
* A military jail.( because lets face it there are some people out there that show a very dangerous side when it come to living vs dying.)
* Stables for animals like cows and such.
* Chapel
* On site water tank.
* Barracks( you know just encase we run out of royal rooms to snag.)
* On site stocked hospital.
* Grounds for growing crops.
* Surrounded a semi well populated area full of supplies to scavenge just in case.
* And the majority of the outer wall is surrounded by steep cliffs
So I know getting there wont be easy but with all of that to benefit from its worth the risk. Lets face it. There is a reason they worked and that some are still used for military purposes to this day. I will also be posting pics of the entrance as well as a diagram of the grounds. Tell me what you think of this one?????

well thanks... thats really thoughtful of you to look that up for me... I will check it out and see if it will work or not... I found a bunch of castles when i was writing this actually but I had to think about what would be the best ones... Like the ones that had outside grounds with big stone walls around it would be best for long stays so we could grow crops and castles that are still lived in because they will be stocked with food and amo and such... or castles that were in mildly populated areas... that way there wont be to many undead around that it makes it impossible to go outside the walls if necessary but populated enough to have things like a hospital and such that you can go out and get things if needed... I actually learned a lot researching this story... It was fun and a lot more complicated then I thought... I kinda had to become a castle snob LOL

there are a few castles here in ohio that were brought over from europe. so its not like me and mine will need to scarf a plane to get to them. here are some pics.

either one to me would be a paradise and safe haven from the undead and both just a stones throw away from me and my house.

well the first one looks great... I will definalty look that up... The second all I see just the chain link fence and glass doors and windows are guarding it... The windows could be secured good enough but the only way that would work for long term is if there was either a green house made on the roof and made sure that it had underground water pipes...... you could live long term without electric if you had to in there but if you dont have the water then it would only be only short term... LOL

Really glad that you have something so close to you though... We dont really have something that good around my parts that I have found yet but one thing we do have that could be a possible plan is a great big airforce base with lots of plains... and it has a few old bunkers there for short term and some other short term possibilities until I figure out what resources I have to get where ever I can go...
