old school skills like these will be super important during the apocalypse. a trick for storing large amounts of salt is to buy the big bags of rock salt that you get at winter. the non chemical strait salt kind is the same as the table kind just not as fine. you can grind it up finer yourself. i have an old hand cranks ice crusher that does the job beautifully. i think its for making lemon ice but I'm not sure.
