Wicked Zombies

YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE...MAYBE TWICE!

A zombie situation discussion for the ladies and the men who can help give advice or weigh in.

It's occurred to me that, obviously, a lot of women have very different needs than men do most every month during a zombie outbreak or not. I thought that we could share some ideas for things to help us keep things in mind.

I was thinking about other things as well, like I better have some midol. lol But seriously, I began thinking I need to research herbal remedies for all sorts of female exclusive conditions. If you would like to share any ideas, please do.

*Now let's be mature everyone. ;)*

I found this...
Helpful herbs include: yarrow and blue cohosh in menstrual difficulties; wormwood and pennyroyal, when there is painful menstruation; chamomile relieves menstrual spasms; peppermint tea eases the pain; desert tea (ephedra viridis), for delayed or difficult menstruation; life root, when there is suppressed menstruation; black cohosh when there is obstructed menstruation; garlic and motherwort, to promote menstrual flow; amaranth and lady's mantle, when there is excessive menstruation; blazing star, for low-ovarian function and lack of estrogen.
Eating high carbohydrate foods like grains.

Also there's obvious things like hot baths, vitamin complexes(mainly Bs) & GUYS a 4 minute lower back massage(easier than being screamed at...lol).

My favourite I just discovered CATNIP tea....hahaha.
zombies smell it like a bear ladies, stay clean
Eeeeeeeew,but also lol.
Lovely. Way to be mature Scat!
Yogurt is your friend, for all kinds of reasons. If you can get your hands and keep them on yogurt or capsules with live cultures, that's good stuff. Probiotic Acidophilus helps with digestive issues and also with certain types of infections that would just be dreaded in a bad situation.

How to make your own yogurt (must have starter yogurt or freeze dried yogurt) if you can or need to: http://www.makeyourownyogurt.com/make-yogurt/what-you-need

They sell freeze dried yogurt melts for kids and also grown ups that would be an awesome alternative to keeping cold yogurt fresh.
Another thought, keeping a stash of colloidal oatmeal bath solution around is a good idea. You can buy it, obviously, or you can make your own. Everyone knows how handy an oatmeal bath is, but it is soothing for ladies troubles as well.
i know this may sound silly but another thing that may help in this area is the knowledge of presure points. a lot of pain relief can be given by a boy friend, spouce, or significant other by the use of presure points. i learned this little art during my first marriage to help my wife during certain bad times of the month. just a thought.
Not at all silly. Massage and hot baths are on the top of my list of things that are relieving when I'm in pain. This is something that I absolutely agree with.

Here is a link on learning about pressure points. http://www.pressthepoint.com/

These tips aren't all lady exclusive, men can also develop a lot of the same issues we have as well. Things like pressure point/massage knowledge and herbal remedies are, I think, becoming more and more essential as our society looks more and more towards big pharmaceutical solutions.

I have never been a big fan of homeopathic remedies, but lately my interest in them has been raised. Mostly because when I go to the doctor, they tend to prescribe the same drugs for every problem and half of them seem to be in auto-mode. It's almost like they start writing before they even start thinking. It makes sense to learn more about treating yourself than relying on these doctors, especially if we were suddenly to not have them.

Our sister-in-law is really into herbal remedies. She listens to some radio show here in TX that she says has great information. I'll have to ask her what it is the next time I see her.
the reason i said it might sound silly is because i recomended it once to some guys i worked with once. they said i was "pussy whipped". i dont call pain relief to my mate that but after reading the sad comment Scatoma made on hygene. i felt the need to cut any insults off before hand. i have had 2 spinal fractures and arthritis has set in to both places. it may not be a menstual cramp, but screaming pain is just that and not a laughing matter. i am not mad at the old boy. dont get me wrong. but to me this is a serious point that you brought up with good reason. it effects every woman in the outfit. they mean as much as any man and need ample consideration to. my viewpoint at least even though i am a male.
Yeah, that was just his goofy attempt to be funny. That's Scat for you. ;) He'll tell you how much I roll my eyeballs at him then give him a big ol' hug. He has been around a bear attack though, so he has some knowledge. lol I just have to give him a hard time, it's my job after all.

My thoughts were that, it's taken years of medical issues to figure out what works and what doesn't. So although these things we're bringing up are common knowledge, you never know who might read one thing and go, "I didn't think of that!" Younger women often have questions they don't ask out of embarrassment and I'm not afraid to talk about these things in a polite way. Like you said, this stuff affects all women of all ages. So it's worth discussing at least. Thanks for joining in with the smarts Mr. Rhino!

Back pain relief is critical if you have problems. Feel free to discuss other solutions for these issues if you want! I have sciatic nerve issues and obvious fibromyalgia, so I'm constantly complaining about back/joint pain. Heat is the number one solution for me. I have a heating pad out most all the time. I want one of those heat/massage seats you put on a chair. I think that would be great for pain and just haven't ever gotten one.
one thing that will help when it comes to back pain is whats called a bed warmer. they are still in use today just not as dangerous as the ones used in the 19th century. this is a picture of a modern bed warmer that plugs into the wall. i have one of these. they are a god send to this day. and safer then the ones of the 19th century

the ones they used in the 19th century use hot ambers straight from the fire place and were extremly hot and often caused 2nd and 3rd degree burns. but in their day were the best thing a person had in cold weather to make the sleeping arangments the best there was.

a warm bed is the best thing in the world for things like back pain and fibromyalgia pain. during Z-Day, these old ones may end up the ones we have to use because of lack of power at first.
I love all of you guys and I am sorry for not using my brain to mouth censor thinga majigy.
