In my opinion the dangers would outweigh the benees. Especially in the early stages of an outbreak. The bodies of the recently dead must be destroyed on site!

It is a good question because you know the government would be dissecting them from the get-go, trying to learn their weaknesses and tolerances, much like the facility in Day of the Dead. Personally, I feel no information that is useful enough to warrant the handling of the dead could ever be pulled from the corpses.

normally i would agree with you on this one brother but i had to think before i answered to this one. upon thought about things that could be learned while handeling the dead, it could be learned a way to stop them. i mean what if we found a form of bacterial agent that could neutralize them by simply dumping it like a crop duster would pesticide. then all we would have to do is go from house to house or building to building clearing out the ones that were inside when the first sweep was made. this would be a big help in reclaiming the world and rebuilding it. so i wouldnt say there was nothing useful that way. knowledge can be found anywhere if you take the time and energy to do so. even from the undead. thats not to say we should try to use them to corral carts at wally world. or even weaponize them for that matter. but you can still gain knowledge.
