10 Minutes From Home: Episode 1-4

I really like this book series so far. Though I need to get the other 4 books in the series to finish off the journey, I'm placing this up as to what I have read so far.

   Only problem I have with it, is the breaking of the story with useless information that pertains to the characters in which there is no need for. You're already drawn into the story by the middle of chapter one, that the character information that the author provides for each one of them seems to interrupt the flow of the story.

   The struggle and turmoil in which the father of a separated family faces and the struggle for survival is felt and gut wrenching by chapter 3. So throwing character biographies in spots where there's no need, really had me wondering what the author was trying to do.
If the author was trying to build a stronger bond between the reader and the characters, it felt to me that he failed in the since of placement within the story. When zombies are beating down a door or someone is running for their lives, I don't want to be thrown into that character's past or life story suddenly in the middle of whether they live or die...
This was a huge amount of excitement, that held my attention from start of episode one till the end of episode 4. The only downside is that of the character biographies. Though I like the story, the bad placement of the character backgrounds seemed to hurt the excitement and the pacing to me...
Even with that flaw, I'll give this book series four stars out of five.
