SyFy's ZNation
Syfy has started their own zombie series...And of course their zombies are the 28 days fast zombies...And from what I have watched these last 23 minutes, they have stolen the main theme from The Walking Dead Comic of Eugene's so called scam of having the cure and has to get to Washington...
But instead of running to Washington, they are running from New York to California with a ex-con being the only person to have received the only vaccine that could help the world to survive the Zombie Outbreak...
This is getting really tiresome of Big TV Stations such as SyFy and others literally stealing ideas and twisting them just enough to call something, "New" or "Original". When as you watch the movie unfold, you pretty much already have the story plot figured out and actually know what's going to happen next...
So far I haven't seen anything original about this so-called SyFy Original of sloppy theft...I will keep watching to satisfy my zombie cravings till The Walking Dead comes back on...But if SyFy thinks they are going to be able to compete with AMC's The Walking Dead, I really think and believe they are going to fail to the point in which they will end up canceling the series or give it some lame ass ending in which pretty much will insult our Zombie Community...
As of right now, Ive been watching for a total of 43 minutes and there hasn't been one exciting moment...I may be really bias here, or just nick picking this zombie series apart due to the loyalty and fanatic respect of The Walking Dead and to Romero's zombies...But if you're going to rip ideas off from other shows, at least do them more class and even show a little more respect towards the entire Zombie Community....
So I'm not sure how many have actually watched, but if you're looking for a simple rip-off, just to tied you over, this will have to do for now...But I'm telling you, as it stand right now, this Z-Nation series by SyFy isn't that good...Specially since they killed off of the main characters which would and could have kept the story going...
Anyways, maybe they'll get better writers or something...As of right now it sucks...

Ok, the only cool thing was the zombie baby at the end of the first episode...But hell, that was the only cool thing about it...It's total garbage on how SyFy is ripping off movie plots and even themes and passing it off as Original material...And the worst part about this, is that the SyFy community doesn't seem to mind the piss poor acting, the terribly written scripts and the awful special effects...Hell, if they use so much stock footage that you can buy off the net, that it really burns my ass that as big as SyFy is they refuse to recruit better writers, hire better actors and create their own special effects...No they would rather just steal their ideas...I used to be a really big fan of the SyFy channel, but as time goes by, I feel that all they are doing is insulting me and my imagination...

In a lot of ways. It is an insult to those of us hard core fans. I mean really. Do they honestly think we would not notice the blatant rip offs they do? Even the zombie baby was stolen. Major case of echoes of Dawn of the Dead 2004 anyone? Lol. That's why if I ever watch SciFi channel. They better be playing some good shit. Otherwise I just go to Chiller Channel for viewing fun. Lol.

Well, I don't have Chiller anymore, well lets say my dad doesn't have it...And as far as I can tell Charter doesn't have Chiller...At least not the package I have...Which reminds me, I need to pay the damn bill today...(LOL)
Anyways...I'm not trying to bash SyFy, but when they are blatanly stealing ideas and I can point it out, that's getting pretty bad...But as it goes, they do get some good stuff, but when it comes to their originals they totally can not hit the mark...Hell to me they've been lowering the bar in films then raising it...

Now I will admit they do make a hit. Once in a great while. The reason I quit watching that channel for the most part was because of the ripoffs. My mom is not the biggest SciFi nut I know. But when SHE can even see the rips. Then THAT is going some. LOL. Im not bashing them. Dont get me wrong. They just need fresh writers brought into the mix. If they change the mix every 6 months. it gives the first batch a chance to come up with some good stuff while the last bunch rest and recharge the old brain batteries for new and fresh ideas. Its not the channel that is the problem. Its the lack of fresh ideas and the result is the ripoffs that happen.

i dont think they are so much ripping off the walking dead as they are parading it. i actually kinda liked the references in the show. like when the soldier dude said he got the info about the blue sky camp from a former cop held up with a few other in a prison. come on i cant be the only one to notice that. the play on the "pink meth" pretty sure poking at braking bad. then when they had to make up their mind what to do with the baby and the cage girl, soldier due is like i hate "ethical dilemmas" again referencing the way to often over done melodramas of the walking dead. like with most of the stuff you watch on scify you have to take it with a grain of salt and realize these are mostly suppose to be comedies. the reason its so much like the walking dead is because its a parody of it. a fun romp through he zpoc not an overly emotional soap opera with zombies as the back drop. this is for every one who has said "enough with the touchy feelly crap just kill some god damn walkers" while watching the walking dead. if you think of it this way then its pretty enjoyable. sure the acting's not great and the cgi leaves things to be desired but I've watched way more crap then this in the pursuit of some good old fashioned zombie head busting. you want the walking dead this is not for you. if you want a fun parody of the walking dead with some great hidden references thrown in then this is it. we dont have to be mutually exclusive. you can have the serious thriller of the walking dead and the dead. and enjoy the zomcons like Shaun of the dead and deadheads. after all were zombie fans not for the sake of art, but just to watch some reanimated corpses get their heads blown off.
and also stop it with calling everything a rip off. okay cause everything's been done before. the remake of dawn of the dead just stole the zombie baby thing from braindead. the so called Eugen's scam is pretty much from every plague movie ever. come on the whole genera pretty much revolves around getting a doctor or immune or even a patient zero to some magical medical center somewhere. everything has already been done, okay Simpsons did it. so just deal and enjoy the show. after all even the original night of the living dead was just a rip off of i am legend

Ok, I've totally watch the complete season of Z Nation on Netflix, it was alright and though it seems to be trying to compete with The Walking Dead, it's just not that powerful...
I have decided that the best character they have in the entire series is Murphy...Even though he seems to be the biggest selfish bastard on the show, I kind of drawn an interest in seeing what lies ahead just for his character...And have come to truely enjoy the antics of Citizen Z...
Granted, Citizen Z isn't that big major climatic roll in which some would have thought, but he works as an opener and closer of the show...
As for the rest of the cast, I've become kind of fund of Doc also...He seems to be the comic relief or the moral compass, but nothing like Dale was During seasons 1 and 2 on The Walking Dead....
Well, I do care for the zombies, because they remind me of the 28 days later so-called zombies....
I gave it a second chance and I think as long as it is on Netflix, I'll watch it, but as for watching it on SyFy, not going to go that far...
I'll just let you know, watch out for the Z-nado and the Z-numi episodes...Not that they matter much in the series, but kind of tells you that the writers have lost most of their original thought...
Anyways, it's not one of the best zombie movies and it's not one of the greatests either...
