What are you reading? What have you read?

Is there a certain zombie book or short story that blew you away? I have read some cool stories on this site so what are you guys reading to inspire you? I love most all zombie novels. Even the crappy heavily flawed self published stuff. Tell me!

Ya I bet you will have to order the sequel to Dead City for now, haven't seen it anywhere yet. Just read thru this group Wicked Ways, we have talked about all the greats.

I really enjoyed both versions of the movie based on the book. I've picked up the book but have not read it yet.

Wicked Ways, Joe McKinney has another zombie book out called "Apocalypse of the Dead". It's just been released. I looked at Barnes & Noble for it today but they didn't have a copy on their shelves. I'm looking forward to reading it because I loved "Dead City". I've read a few books by Timothy Long that I would suggest checking out too. "Among the Living" and "The Zombie Wilson Diaries" are pretty cool. The former is a straight-ahead zombie novel. The latter is more of a funny zombie tale. He also co-wrote "The Apocalypse and Satan's Glory Hole". It also has some zombies in it but it's not a true zombie novel. It's hilarious, however, so I'd recommend it as well.

I just finished Dead City and it was amazing and action packed. Any recommendations for my next purchase?

Just thought id put a post on to let anyone that hasnt heard of the Swedish author John Ajvide Lindqvist know that he is well worth a look.
I am currently reading his new book Harbour, and as well as being a master story teller this guy can describe such desolation and isolation in such a manner as too make you stand next to the character and breath the air with them.
Too the good people of this site I would highly recommend all his books but a good one to start with would be 'Handling the undead' a really really good take on the zombie genre.
His first book a vampire tale called' Let the right one in' has just been made into an American movie called ' Let me in '
PLEASE DONT JUDGE HIS BOOKS FROM THIS OR THE OTHER EUROPEAN MOVIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If anyone reads,or has read, any of his books and enjoyed or disliked them id be more than willing to discuss.

And as always any recommendations for reads will be gratefuly recieved.

Peace,green and survival too all.

Finished reading Rhannon Frater's As the World Dies trilogy yesterday and today read "Barriers Beyond" by Tim W. Long. I enjoyed both and would whole-heartedly recommend them. I also started reading an anthology that I have a 3-page comic in (the only comic in the book). The first story, by Ray Garton, is excellent ... like no other zombie story I've read. The collection is called "Best New Zombie Tales" Volume 1.

I will be starting The Dragon Factory by Jonathan Maberry on Saturday and I have pretty high expectations. It is the sequel to Patient Zero, which I liked a lot. No zombies this time. Looks like genetically altered monsters of some kind.
I finished Cruade: Eden 2 the other day it was really good. If you enjoyed Eden(which you damn well should have) then for sure get the sequel. Another tear jerker in my opinion.

Has anybody here read a Repair Man Jack Novel? If not somebody please read The Tomb so I am not alone with this obsession. You will read the rest once you start so be warned.

Well, I am the idiot that hasn't gone to see the doctor in forever so don't be sorry.

Sorry to hear that about your vision. I have to use reading glasses. Weird thing is that I've been told I have 20/15 vision. Guess I'm getting old and spending too much time in front of my computer. I don't care for audio books either. Too easy to get distracted or to miss details.
