When Life Doesn't Give You Lemons, Make OJ Instead

    We all have a story, some of them worse than others. Maybe you've lost the love of your life, a best friend, or a family member. Maybe you were sexually, physically, or emotionally abused. Maybe life just sucks ass and you're one of those people who end up on Jerry Springer, confronting your inner demons in your fifteen minutes of fame that you didn't want. Whatever. Who am I to judge on all that? I mean, my life sure as hell ain't perfect. And some times I chick out and cry, or pull up my big girl pants and punch the nearest thing closest to me--usually a poor defenseless wall.

   But sometimes we forget about that whole, "When one door closes a window opens," shtick that our therapists feed us when we feel like going emo. I mean, life ain't all that bad, is it? Even if we have no one, we still have our shadows. And yeah, waking up and facing that person in the mirror sometimes seems like too much trouble. But hey, even if you've hit rock bottom, things'll work themselves out eventually. If you've gone completely down, there's no where to go but up.

    So go ahead and cry, but get over it. And if that's hard to do? Get even.  Prove to those people that hurt you that you are so much more than a nameless person. You hurt and bleed and you're only human. But that's the great part, right? You're only human. And only humans have the ability to change things at the drop of a hat, the pull of a trigger, a wish on a star... Whatever shit situation you're in, there's always a way out, always another option.

   You just need to look for it.
