Wicked Zombies

YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE...MAYBE TWICE!

You never really know if they are empty. There are always the living, and the dead shambling around to worry about. My personal recommendations:
Surround and check out a house thoroughly before approaching then enter.

in my opinion. just to stay safe, this is what i suggest. first. we hit each home in a 6 person team. second. each team of 6 break off in to groups of 2. third. each team of 2 go room by room to search for any survivors. clear any stenches. then raid the home for needed supplies. when done with that home. do the same with the next one and so on. two 6 person teams working together can clear a block a day easy using this method.
plus i feel we should torch the house after...just in case there is a zombie or three we missed.
BUT IF WE DO THAT, THEN WE GOT NO PLACE WE CAN FALL BACK TO THAT WE KNOW FOR SURE IS SAFE IN CASE WE GET SWARMED AND NEED TO WAIT IT OUT FOR RESCUE. UNDER NORMAL WAR CONDITIONS YOUR IDEA WOULD BE SOUND THOUGH. IN RUSSIA DURING WWII, THEY USED THE "SCORCHED EARTH" PLAN OF ATTACK. THE METHOD OF MADDNESS THERE IS "IF I CANT HAVE IT THEN NEITHER WILL MY ENEMY".
then only burn the ones we do not need.
keep safe houses, ones that are easly defended.
another flaw to that is fire spreads. in the city, houses are close together. if one burns, then the chances of others catching fire is present and often does happen. so the chanes are good that a home we burn 2 maybe 3 doors down could catch others on fire. what happens when that happens and we are hiding in a house in the path of the fire and the house is surounded by the undead? do you realy want to be there for that little brother?? its a choice of being zed chow or burning alive. i dont like either option. so lets leave the fire as a drop dead last resort. especialy since things like that tend to draw the attention of zombies.
nothing is perfect
true. but the safty of the teams we send is the utmost importance. without them, we got no supply runs. which means no ammo, food, automobile parts, gas, and so on. i will be the first to admit its fun to play with fire and torches. but when there are komradz at stake, its time to control the urge to "FLICK THE BIC" so to speak. lol. thats why i say use the fire as a last resort. like the book says "FIRE CAN BE YOUR FRIEND AS WELL AS YOUR ENEMY". Max Brooks: THE ZOMBIE SURVIVAL GUIDE
true enuff george.
exactly my point. the homes we capture will house the people we rescue and house us when all this ends. so the "SCORCHED EARTH" policy must not and can not be used. if we did that, we would only hurt what we are trying to do here.
Thats where my Ka-Bar comes in handy. If all Komrads could be handy with it, scavenging small houses wouldn't be a problem.
being handy with a knife is no problem for me. i just feel safer with a equaly sound partner at my back on a supply raid. i am quite handy with my kukri knife.
Scavenging with more then more person will make your odds for survival higher.
