Wicked Zombies

YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE...MAYBE TWICE!

Here is a place to share tutorials for arts/crafts. I have a few that I'll share that are my favorites....Please share free tutorials if you don't mind!

Sewing -
Black Apple Rag Doll: This is a great tutorial for sewing a rag doll. It is easy, fun and fast. Rag dolls are very basic and great beginner projects. They are also easily customized and could be changed to create a number of characters!

Painting -
Watercolor Stenciling Portrait: An awesome and easy tutorial for creating silhouette portraits with watercolor. Combines digital imaging with real life painting. You could also use a light board or just plain ol' tracing to get your image. I could see someone doing some really cool zombie portraits this way!

Fiber -
Spinning Yarn: Because I love it, someone else might. Also because I have a problem with trying to encourage people to get addicted to fiber arts. There are a number of non-animal fiber supplies available other than wool, such as bamboo, milk protein fiber (fiber actually derived from milk, so it is an animal product but not cut off the cow) and soda bottle fiber. They even make fiber from recycled prison uniforms. I won't buy it because I'm afraid there might be bad karma stuck in it but more power to anyone who does. lol

Will find some more and post later.

Drawspace is a great site to learn how to draw!

I'm starting to think this group has turned me bi-polar I have 7 different project all going on at once and as soon as I finish one I'll post the pics... well except my writtings lol
No this group is inspiring. Word it right! You have been inspired by we muses. lol
So is that the word of the day "inspired"
Yes, now write it 20 times on a wide ruled sheet of paper and turn in it on my desk.
Here is an easy tutorial on how to make your own faux dreadlocks using wool roving. Very fun for a non-permanent look! I made some and attached them to metal hair clips. Super easy to throw in your hair and take out when you're sick of them.

I'm studying drawing this semester and we are starting with blind contour drawing. So far, so good. I can at least get the shapes somewhat accurate.

Here are some links for tutes on contour drawing...

Needle Felting - Using fibers to create sculptural art, accessories or even clothing. Needle felting is easy to transport small projects for traveling, is therapeutic (jabbing a needle into foam and felt over and over can release some stress!) and creates awesome finished art pieces! Can be integrated into other projects and used to decorate many fabrics.

Polymer Clay sculpting - This is a great site for all things polymer clay! Polymer clay is a great medium because it can be baked in your oven to set. I'm sure that you zombie-ites could come up with all kinds of awesome little sculptures. You can make jewelery, accessories, decorations, sculptures, etc and the combination of color and techniques are endless!

Freezer Paper Stencils - You can make awesome stencils for t-shirts, totes, whatever the hell you can find to stencil, etc. with freezer paper. Very convenient, inexpensive and fun.
